“High Forever is the perfect blend and we can’t wait to share it with the world,” T.I Jakke of NAIROBI stated in reflection of the release.

Jakke Erixson, one half of the Nairobi duo, met Cody Simpson during his early days as Top 40 record producer, and since meeting him, has always admired his sound and integrity as an artist. The two became friends, keeping in touch over the years as their careers in music grew. A successful studio session in 2019 led to two song collaborations from the Cody Simpson x Nairobi camp with High Forever being released on Erixon’s label, Gold Fever Records.

Nairobi, the Swedish pop wonder consisting of T.I. Jakke and Karl-Ola Kjellholm, deliver the perfect modern pop-pillow we all need. In the past, the duo worked with well-known artists such as Ava Max, R3hab, Shaggy or the Goo Goo Girls. In these times, Nairobi aim to give audiences the kind of carefree, joy-filled experiences that the world is craving. In case people wonder, Nairobi is indeed a homage to one of the characters from the famous Netflix series The Money Heist.

About NAIROBI

The Swedish pop wonder continues. From super producers T.I Jakke and Karl-Ola Kjellholm (Ava Max, R3hab, Enrique Iglesias, Daddy Yankee, French Montana, Shaggy, Goo Goo Dolls and many more) comes a perfect blend of Swedish melancholy and sunny California.

NAIROBI is the perfect modern pop-pillow we all need. The land of the midnight sun meets the golden coast in the bright, intoxicating sounds of new Swedish-Californian pop wonder NAIROBI. The duo offers up the kind of instant pop hits we’ve come to expect from Sweden’s music masterminds, and seamlessly blends in the eternal summer beach vibes of Southern California. Fronted by the familiar, hit-making voice of Jakke Erixson (Mike Perry, RedOne, John de Sohn, HotShade, Ten Times, etc.), NAIROBI aims to give audiences the kind of carefree, joy-filled experience that’s so needed in today’s world, and with irresistibly buoyant sounds reminiscent of Kygo, Galantis and Benny Blanco, the group accomplishes their feel-good mission in spades.

Song Inspiration

Australian triple-threat and pop sensation, Cody Simpson, teams up with new Stockholm & L.A.-based House wonder, NAIROBI, in a collaboration as sweet as the euphoric days of summer.

The inspiration for the song emerged when NAIROBI’s discovered CODY SIMPSON as being an outstanding, ideal collaborator, wanting to pair his musicianship and poetry with NAIROBI’s melancholic pop sound.

“High Forever is the perfect blend and we can’t wait to share it with the world,” T.I Jakke of NAIROBI stated in reflection of the release.

Combining forces, NAIROBI serves irresistibly buoyant sounds, while incorporating Simpson’s silky, time-tested vocabs to make their track “High Forever” an instantly intoxicating hit.

Song’s Origin Story

Jakke Erixson, one-half of the NAIROBI duo, met Cody Simpson during his early days as Top 40 record producer, and since meeting him, has always admired his sound and integrity as an artist. The two became friends, keeping in touch over the years as their careers in music grew. In 2019, Erixson started his own boutique record label, Gold Fever Records, with Karl-ola Kjellholm and Philip Wareborn. After the label’s launch, he reached out to Simpson to collaborate on new music and a short while later, the two were in the studio together. The successful studio session led to two song collaborations from the Cody Simpson X NAIROBI camp, the first of which is expected to end up on Simpson’s artist project, while the second track, “HIGH FOREVER,” has been planned for release on Erixson’s label, Gold Fever Records.

Shortly after recording “HIGH FOREVER,” Erixson played the song for Zack Dekkaki, President of The Loki Group, who immediately became excited by the track’s potential. From there, Dekkaki offered to partner Loki Records, a subsidiary of The Loki Group, with Gold Fever to co-release and promote the song globally. As a boutique label, Gold Fever saw tremendous opportunity in the partnership and its ability to expand the reach of this release to an international audience with the help of Loki Records’ label services. “HIGH FOREVER” is speculated to be the first of several collaborative releases between Loki Records and Gold Fever Records.
